Düsseldorf July 2016, with a total of nine fashion shows, over 30 participating labels and about 5000 visitors, PLATFORM FASHION, taking place taking on occasion of Collection Premièr Düsseldorf, has turned its 6th season from July 22nd to July 24th on areal Böhler into a huge success.
Kicking things off on July 22nd at 21.00 h was fashion and lifestyle company Breuninger, presenting a selection from the latest collections in front of many clients and celebrities including Barbara Becker, Sila Sahin, Barbara Meier, Annett Möller and Amelie Klever. Seen on the runway for this show as well as others were models Fata Hasanovic, Elena Carrière und Lara Helmer, known from TV show Germany‘s Next Topmodel. The day was closed with a get together thrown by Breuninger.
On Saturday, July 23rd 2016 selected young fashion labels such as Clara Kaesdorf, Lyvem, Lassal, Erlich Textil and Sonja Tafelmeier Couture won over the audience at Fashion Yard meets PLATFORM FASHION. Their current collections were not only seen on the catwalk, but could be purchased on all event days by the fashion savvy visitors of Areal Böhler on a separate pop up area. Subsequently, network Fashion Net Dusseldorf e.V. staged the “Fashion Net presents Düsseldorf Designer” show. Labels 3zehn, Aleks Kurkowski and Lena Man showed their new collections in the presence of guests such as Thomas Geisel, Mayor of Düsseldorf and his wife Dr. Vera Geisel.
Also on display were silk scarf designs created for a design contests initiated by AMD – Akademie Mode & Design and Lillet.
Renowned designer Annette Görtz then presented the latest trends of the coming season at her highly acclaimed fashion show. The evening was closed by label Unique with the presentation of gorgeous dresses and evening gowns. Familiar faces such as Katja Burkard, Angelina Heger, Gülcan Kamps, Daniela Michalski and Jennifer Katzenberger could be spotted in the audience. Franziska Knuppe was admired modelling on the catwalk.
A total of 10 exhibitors of trade fair GALLERY – including Art Point, Ewa | Walla, Barbara Reis and The Swiss Label – which was once again located on Areal Böhler this season, presented their new collections on Sunday, July 24th 2016. Following up was label Delicatelove, first hosting a Fashion Cocktail, then staging the latest trends for the coming season together with labels Amco Fashion by Annett Möller, Cabo by Milka, Maison Common and Strehlow during the PLATFORM SELECTED FASHION show. Strutting the catwalk were Anna Hiltrop, Katrin Wrobel, Tanja Lanäus, Louisa Wrobel and Dagmar and Alana Siegel. The guests included among others Anna Hofbauer, Falk-Willy Wild, Maren Gilzer, Amelie Klever, Julia Prillwitz, Carola Ferstl, Marie Amière, Nelson Müller and Mara Bergmann.
The fabulous ending of the of three day event was provided by the Thomas Rath fashion show with guests such as Elna Magret von Bentheim, Günther and Erna Klum, Katja Burkard, Christian Tews, Florian Molzahn, Liz Baffoe, Patrick Mölleken, Angie Duke, Dr. Barbara Sturm, Verena Wriedth, Astrid Rudolph, Tanja Brockmann, Justus Tsoussis and Luca Bazzanella and Daniela Michalski.
Taking place for the second time, the FASHION LECTURES event offered talks, lectures and short presentations on technical innovations, current trends in the fashion industry as well as the future of retail. Styleranking, Fashioncheque, Grey, People Tree, Yelp, Granpasso Digital Strategy, The Rocket Scientists, Fashion & Law Germany and Barbara Frères Digital were amongst this season’s participating companies.
