Düsseldorf, January 2018. The 9th season of fashion show concept PLATFORM FASHION, held on occasion of the order days in Düsseldorf, came to a successful ending yesterday, Sunday, January 28th 2018. With six runway shows as well as several off-site events, more than 25 participating labels, over 4.000 guest, media  as well as numerous influencers over the run of three days, the event proved once again to be a huge success.

Kicking off PLATFORM FASHION on Friday, January 26th 2018 at 21.00h, was fashion and lifestyle company Breuninger, showing a selection from current collections to a large number customers and celebrity guests including Aylin Tezel, Kostja Ullmann, Annica Hansen and Miriam Lahnstein. The evening ended in cheerful atmosphere when everybody mingled at the after show party.

On Saturday, Jnaury 27th 2018 at 15.00h graduates from Akademie Mode&Design presented their innovative designs, making it once more evident that for AMD students the development of signature design characteristics is a priority on the curriculum. FashionYard meets PLATFORM FASHION followed at 18:00h with selected fashion labels presenting their latest collections on the catwalk. Supported by a live performance by singer Diana Schneider, labels such as Lassal, Charmite, Leandro Lopes, Nadja Kiess, LiebJu, Alice Roco und Shanty Couture could be seen on the runway. The show was complemented by a pop up sales area, where the unique designs of all participating labels could be purchased. To be spotted in the audience were Amelie Klever, Gülcan Kamps and Emil Kusmirek amongst others.

The day was concluded by TNRWDI CATWALK, the runway show of newly launched format THE NRW DESIGN ISSUE – TNRWDI at 21.00h. Featured labels included MIAKI KOMURO from Düsseldorf, machart manufaktur from Steinheim or jen mm design from Wuppertal, all portraying the great diversity and high quality of designers operating from in North Rhine-Westphalia.

On Sunday, January 28th 2018 at 18.30h, labels Nadja Kiess, Alexandra Fuks, Beate Heymann and CABO by MILKA presented next season’s fashion trends at the PLATFORM FASHION SELECTED fashion show. Model Britt Jolig, was strutting the runway for CABO by MILKA and in the audience celebs such as Vincent de Paul, Mara Bergmann, Miriam Lange or Eva Imhof could witness each label’s individual approach of staging fashion. Under the glamorous title “Casino Royale”, the traditionally extravagant fashion show of the Düsseldorf-based designer Thomas Rath ended the evening at 20.30 h. Present in the audience were Leon Löwentraut, Marie Amiere, Elna-Margret zu Bentheim, Vanessa Fuchs, Anna Hiltrop and Joachim Llambi.

Seen on all day as a model on the catwalk was Germany’s Next Topmodel participant Nancy Lieske and many others.

In order to meet growing demands of B2C sales, a limited number of tickets for TNRWDI – THE NRW DESIGN ISSUE, FashionYard meets PLATFORM FASHION and PLATFORM FASHION SELECTED were available for sale. Parts of the fashion shows were broadcasted live on the internet.
