With eight fashion shows, about 30 participating labels and 5.000 guests successful format PLATFORM FASHION celebrated its tenth season at Areal Böhler from July 20th to July 22nd 2018. With the participation of partners such as LEXUS Deutschland and Broich Catering, the fashion show platform provided well-established fashion brands as well as emerging young talents with the opportunity to stage their collections during the Düsseldorf order days.

For this anniversary season, PLATFORM FASHION managed surprised with new highlights in the schedule and continued to broaden its position as a creative hub for various styles and innovative ideas.

Kicking off the weekend on Friday, July 20th, was the Breuninger show: The fashion and lifestyle company opened the event once again for the anniversary season and presented selected highlights from the current collections to VIP customers and numerous celebrity guests, including influencers Alexandra Lapp, Lisa Hahnbück and Lena Terlutter.

Saturday, July 21st, started with the FashionYard meets PLATFORM FASHION show with a variety of carefully curated fashion labels presenting their latest collection on the catwalk. In addition to the show, guest could purchase styles form the runway show from a pop-up sale area. Besides Anna Hiltrop, who opened the show as a model, TV host Eva Imhof was spotted among the guests.

At the 3D FASHION BY LEXUS show, promising visions of fashion were shown to well-known guests such as Mara Bergmann and Amelie Klever. Premium car manufacturer Lexus collaborated with the fashion school AMD Akademie Fashion & Design to bring innovative 3D-print designers such as Heidi Lee, Alexis Walsh and Maartje Dijkstra as well as outstanding graduates of the fashion school to the runway. Also in the spotlight were the new Lexus UX, the first crossover SUV as well as a new, elegant limousine, the Lexus ES, which will be available in Germany in early 2019.

On Saturday night, the Unique fashion show once again brought elegance and glamour to the runway of PLATFORM FASHION: Inspired by spring, the “Bloom” collection – celebrating the brand’s 20th anniversary – stretched out like an endless sea of flowers. The glamorous, elaborate cocktail and evening dresses guaranteed exceptional fashion moments with musical support from singer Sarah Lombardi, who presented her new song “Just here”. Strutting the catwalk in front of VIP guest such as guests such as Xlatea, Birgit von Bentzel or Bella Lesnik,were models Kim Hnizdo and Toni Oluwatoniloba, know from the TV show “Germany’s Next Top Model”.

On Sunday, July 22nd, the KIDS FASHION BY CWF | CYBEX | PICTUREPEOPLE show was first on the schedule – a collaboration between PicturePeople photo studios, CYBEX – the manufacturer of high-end children’s seats, strollers and baby carriers – and the CWF Group, Europe’s leading licensee and manufacturer of luxury kids wear, with a brand portfolio including Chloé, Givenchy, Little Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, DKNY, Hugo Boss, Zadig & Voltaire, Timberland, Billieblush, Billybandit or Carrément Beau. The CYBEX fashion collections are bold, pluralistic and multifaceted and know how to surprise with every new season – even on the runway of PLATFORM FASHION. With this show, PLATFORM FASHION included the segment of premium kids wear for the first time.

Following on Sunday were labels Manouc and L.A. LU Design, who presented their designs for the first time at PLATFORM FASHION. The show WMN PWR WMN, marked the launch of the first joint collection by Annabell Marschall and Katharina Bonmann, inspired by New York street style and summer vibes from Los Angeles. In addition to musical live act Frida Gold, numerous celebrities such as Monica Ivancan, Rebecca Siemoneit-Barum and Miriam Lahnstein attended the show.

Established designer such as Alexandra Fuks, Cabo by Milka, Marianna Deri or Charmite once again had the opportunity to stage their individual ideas of at fashion on the runway of PLATFORM FASHION SELECTED in front of guests such as Paul-Henry Duval, Britt and Alex Jolig.

Ending the event in style was the THE NRW DESIGN ISSUE_CATWALK show with labels such as JOTJOT from Mülheim an der Ruhr, Aleks Kurkowski and Marina Willms from Düsseldorf, the Cologne designer duo kolle_kuntz as well as anna dezet from Schwelm, documenting the large variety and high quality of designers working in North Rhine-Westphalia. The show was part of THE NRW DESIGN ISSUE, an event sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitization and Energy of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which took place from July 19th to July 22nd in NRW-Forum Düsseldorf.
